Harrow International School, Bengaluru is delighted to welcome applications for the posts of Boarding Housemaster and Boarding Housemistress for the secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced pastoral leader to work with the founding team to shape the boarding provision at a world leading school from its launch.

The post comes with a generous package, which includes rent free accommodation in a three bedroom home adjacent to the boarding house, international health cover provided free of charge, flight and relocation allowances, and fee-free education for appropriately aged children at Harrow Bengaluru (subject to meeting the school’s entry requirements).

Boarding Housemistresses and Housemasters will lead a team providing outstanding pastoral care and academic guidance to students, aged 11 to 18 years old, within their boarding house. They will therefore build positive, caring relationships with their house members, supporting them ‘in loco parentis’ to build a happy, purposeful, safe and secure house community. They will be supported by an extensive team, including a residential assistant housemaster/mistress and matron, several house tutors and a domestic team of cooks and cleaners.

You will teach a reduced academic timetable and will therefore be expected to hold excellent knowledge in your specialist subject and to demonstrate first-rate classroom practice, in addition to the pastoral care experience required for the successful management of a busy boarding house. A highly collaborative nature and strong communication skills will be essential, allowing the development of supportive relationships with staff, students, and parents.
